Rights or Things Return

Settling an estate is hard enough without decoding the CRA’s requirements for a final return. The terminal T1 reports income up to the date of death and is a legal obligation of the executor. Count myAccount manages the terminal return — simple or complex — reviews it with the executor before filing, and can add a Rights or Things return to report income owed but not yet received, claiming a second set of credits where it reduces the estate’s tax.

Add-on — optional return filed alongside the terminal T1 to report income not included in the final return, reducing estate tax liability where eligible.
